NRI PAN Application
An NRI means Non-resident Indian holding Indian Passport for the purpose of pancard . Generally, an NRI has at least two addresses, one in India and other in any other country. Such NRI can apply with NRI PAN Application for new pan card or reprint of pan card or correction in pan card using the address of India or by using the address of any other country.
If NRI applies with address of any foreign country, his/her fee is Rs. 1500/- on www.etdsdsc.com whereas If NRI applies with Indian address , his/her fee is only Rs. 190/- on www.etdsdsc.com and www.pancard.org.in . Actually this difference is due to heavy postal charges and other resultant taxes etc. Therefore, if any NRI has active Indian Address, he/she should apply NRI PAN Application as Indian Applicant only.
Therefore, it is advised that such NRI should apply as a Indian Applicant with Indian I.D.Proofs including his/her Indian Passport.
Important Warning : If NRI ( Non-resident Indian ) applies Pan Card Application with Indian address, that Indian Address should be active. There should be any responsible person to take delivery of pan card which is sent by Speed Post or a class Courier.)
